Bihar, Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has expelled 10 more leaders from the party ahead of the first phase of voting in the Bihar Assembly elections.

These include one sitting MLA, two former MLAs, and one female leader.

Previously, the RJD had expelled 27 leaders from the party for six years. This includes several leaders who left the RJD and joined other parties.

Names of the Expelled Leaders

RJD has included Dehri MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh, State Vice President Satish Kumar, Mohd Syed Naushadul Navi alias Pappu Khan, former MLA Mohd Ghulam Jilani Warsi, former MLA Mohd Riazul Haq Raju, State General Secretary Amod Kumar Mandal, State General Secretary Jipsa Anand, besides Virendra Kumar Sharma, E Pranav Prakash, and Rajiv Ranjan alias Pinku.

The party issued a letter on the evening of October 27th stating that all 27 of them were involved in campaigning against the RJD’s official candidate.

Some independents are also contesting the election. This is why the RJD has taken action against them.

Earlier Round of Expulsions

The 27 leaders include Parsa MLA Chhote Lal Rai, Govindpur MLA Mohammad Kamran, four former MLAs, and a former MLC.

Among them are leaders who are contesting on the Janshakti Janata Dal (JD) ticket of Lalu Prasad’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, who has already been expelled from the party for six years.

Tej Pratap Yadav is not only contesting the Mahua seat from his party, the Janshakti Janata Dal, but has also fielded candidates in several other constituencies. He has even fielded a candidate in Raghopur, Tejashwi Yadav’s constituency.

Ritu Jaiswal wanted a ticket from the Parihar Assembly constituency but did not get it. The RJD has given the ticket to Smita Purve Gupta, daughter-in-law of former minister Ramchandra Purve.

Therefore, Ritu Jaiswal is contesting as an independent.

Ritu Jaiswal raised questions about the age of RJD candidate Smita Purva and also questioned the posting of an officer in Parihar. She has been known as the leader of the Parihar community.

The RJD gave her a Lok Sabha ticket from Shivhar, but she lost to Lovely Anand. She also received a ticket from the Parihar Assembly constituency but lost there as well.
