Pakistan and Afghanistan on Saturday agreed to an immediate ceasefire to end the conflict that has been ongoing since October 9. The announcement was made in a statement by Qatar’s Foreign Ministry.
According to the statement, talks were held between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Doha, mediated by Qatar and Turkiye. Both sides agreed to immediately implement a ceasefire and discuss ways to bring lasting peace and stability to the border.

The statement said,
“Both countries have also agreed to hold a follow-up meeting in the next few days to make the ceasefire sustainable.”
Qatar described the agreement as a major diplomatic success and expressed hope that it would reduce tension on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and lay the foundation for lasting peace in the region.
