Pakistan-Afghanistan War: No Talks Being Held With Afghanistan, Says Pak PM’s Spokesperson

Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s spokesman, Mosharraf Zaidi, has clearly stated that there are no plans for any negotiations or agreements with the Taliban in Afghanistan. He stated that Pakistan’s first and last responsibility is to protect its citizens and its borders.

Pakistan’s stance is tough

Speaking to Pakistani media, Mosharraf Zaidi stated that terrorist activities against Pakistan from Afghan soil will no longer be tolerated.

He said that if Pakistan receives information about where terrorists are hiding, it will take action there—regardless of local support.

Concern over terrorist activities emanating from Afghanistan

Zadi appealed to the international community to ensure that Afghan soil, especially areas along the Durand Line, are not used for attacks on Pakistan.

He stated that cross-border violence poses a significant threat to Pakistan’s internal security and must be stopped.

Support from Pakistan’s Information Minister

Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister, Attaullah Tarar, also supported this tough stance.

In an interview, he stated that Pakistan has been a responsible neighbor, but its policy of peace should not be mistaken for weakness.

He clarified that Islamabad’s sole objective is to eliminate terrorist threats and ensure national security.

Growing Border Tensions

In recent months, incidents of firing and terrorist attacks have increased along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Pakistan alleges that many attacks are planned in Afghanistan and that terrorists receive shelter from there.

However, the Afghan Taliban administration denies these allegations and maintains that its territory is not being used against any neighboring country.

Appeal to the International Community

The Pakistani leadership has once again appealed to the international community to pressure Afghanistan to eliminate terrorist networks operating from there.
Pakistan says that lasting peace in the region is possible only if cross-border violence is completely stopped.
