Pakistani drone drops IED, ammunition, and drugs in Poonch; security forces on high alert

Jammu and Kashmir : A drone from Pakistan intruded into Indian territory near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir and dropped a cache of suspected explosives, ammunition, and drugs.
The drone flew for about five minutes in the Khadi Karmada area of ​​Poonch and returned to Pakistan.

A video of the drone’s drop has also surfaced, showing the recovered IED and other material.

Extensive search operation launched, threat assessment ongoing

Upon detection of drone activity, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a massive search operation in the area.

Security agencies are investigating the nature of the recovered material and the potential terrorist threat associated with it.

Security has been tightened across the Jammu region, especially in border and forest areas, in view of the New Year.

Presence of two terrorist groups suspected, surveillance increased

Based on intelligence, cordon and search operations are being conducted in Poonch and Kishtwar districts.

A special operation was launched in the Keshwan-Chatroo valley following reports of the activities of two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist groups in the forests of Doda-Kishtwar.

Search operations have been intensified with the use of drones and other aerial surveillance equipment.

The Romeo Force also conducted a search operation in the Khanedar Top area near the India-Pakistan border.

In addition, intensive vehicle checking is ongoing on the Pathankot-Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
