Haryana ACB Arrests Palwal EASI for Allegedly Accepting ₹2 Lakh Bribe in Honey-Trap Case

Palwal: The Haryana State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB) has arrested an Extended Assistant Sub-Inspector (EASI) of the Haryana Police for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh in connection with a 2023 honey-trap case in Palwal district.

The accused, identified as Hoshiar Singh, was posted at the Camp Police Station in Palwal. According to the SV&ACB, he allegedly demanded the bribe from a complainant to facilitate a compromise in a criminal case registered in 2023.

Caught Red-Handed During Trap

After receiving a complaint, the Anti-Corruption Bureau verified the allegations and laid a trap. During the operation, officials allegedly caught Hoshiar Singh red-handed while accepting the ₹2 lakh bribe.

The tainted currency was recovered from the accused, who was immediately taken into custody.

Case Registered Under Prevention of Corruption Act

Following the arrest, the bureau registered a case against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Officials said further investigation is underway to determine whether any other individuals were involved in the alleged bribery.

The accused will be produced before the competent court, and the investigation will continue in accordance with the law.

The Haryana State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has appealed to the public to report cases of bribery and corruption, assuring strict action against officials found guilty of corrupt practices.
