Elderly Man Killed by Reckless JCB on GT Road in Panipat

Panipat: The dangers of speeding and careless driving on the GT Road in Panipat district continue, with another tragic incident on Thursday evening. An elderly man riding his bicycle near Diwana Road was fatally struck by an out-of-control JCB. The impact was so severe that the JCB’s tyre ran over him, killing him instantly.

According to his daughter, Soni Rani, Vipin Kumar worked at Om Overseas Company on GT Road. He was returning home around 6:30 pm after finishing his work when the accident occurred.

JCB Driver Flees the Scene

Eyewitnesses reported that the JCB was being driven recklessly at high speed. After striking Vipin Kumar from behind, the driver fled the scene, leaving the JCB abandoned a short distance away. Police have registered a case based on Soni Rani’s complaint and are investigating the incident.

Soni Rani said her father was the main support for her and her sister, adding that his sudden death has left the family devastated. The accident has highlighted ongoing concerns about road safety on GT Road, especially involving heavy vehicles.

Police Action Underway

Authorities are investigating the incident and have appealed to witnesses to come forward with any information about the JCB driver.
