Panipat: Medical Store Owner and Wife Allegedly Assaulted After Parking Dispute

Panipat: An incident of brazen hooliganism has come to light in the Raj Nagar locality of Panipat city and at a medical store located on Street Number 3, a group of youths launched a life-threatening assault on the proprietor and his wife following a minor dispute. After the incident, the accused fled the scene while issuing death threats.

Dispute Over Bike Parking

According to the victim, the medical store proprietor was present at his shop around 8:00 AM on Thursday. At that time, a patient arrived to purchase medicines and parked his motorcycle in the street outside the shop. It is alleged that a group of youths identified as Mafish, Salman, Shahrukh and Shaveer, who were standing in the street, began verbally abusing the patient over the parking of the bike.

The altercation initially began with pushing and shoving.

Proprietor and Wife Beaten for Interfering 

When the shop proprietor attempted to reason with the youths, explaining that the bike belonged to a patient who would move it immediately after collecting his medicines, the accused flew into a rage. They summoned several accomplices and attacked the proprietor using hammers and sticks.

Upon seeing her husband being beaten, the proprietor’s wife rushed to intervene; however, the accused assaulted her as well. It is further alleged that during this assault, an attempt was made to molest the woman, resulting in her sustaining serious injuries.

Accused Run Away with Weapons in Hand

The accused, brandishing their sticks and hammers, fled the scene as neighbors and onlookers gathered in response to the disturbance. The victim’s family received death threats from the accused as they fled, threatening them with terrible outcomes. The injured couple was taken to the Civil Hospital by locals right away, and they are currently receiving treatment there.
