Uproar from Parliament to Streets

The problems created by the flaws in the education system that persist year after year remain unresolved. Paper leaks and cheating aren’t a problem that began in 2024 and has now emerged in its most horrific form in 2026.

This problem has arisen in different states at different times, shattering the dreams of young people. When attempts were made to implement the principle of “One Nation, One Exam” on a pan-India basis, these flaws proved to be a disaster.

One of the reasons behind the “Cockroach Janata Party” protest at Jantar Mantar is the inefficiency of the country’s education system. The question of why the flaws in the education and examination systems are not being addressed remains unanswered. If immediate action to address these issues is replaced by mere lip service, the anger of the younger generation will no longer be confined to a single party; it will spread globally.

Why did the Jantar Mantar protest become so dangerous, fueled by political influence and the subsequent infiltration of antisocial and disruptive elements? Because the measures taken failed to yield results, and millions of young people are now faced with the prospect of their education becoming meaningless and their examinations becoming meaningless.

This is why, across India, youth anger is visible on the streets not only in Delhi but also in various parts of Bihar, from Jaipur and Jammu to Maharashtra. Trust is also eroded when, instead of establishing immediate dialogue, the police, whose inhumanity is repeatedly complained of, are deployed.

Instead of engaging in dialogue, politics is in a state of stalemate. The monsoon session of Parliament is underway, and there is constant uproar. Instead of ideas, accusations and counteraccusations are being exchanged. Meanwhile, disillusioned politicians are also disguised as young people, hoping to find a new lease on life. Dry straw catches fire quickly. This fire of youthful anger quickly spread across the country.

It is crucial to instill youth’s faith in the country’s system. When the opposition alleged that a similar major paper leak occurred in 2026, following the 2024 exam, the government immediately established fast-track courts not only in Delhi but across the country. This is a right step, as it will instill confidence in the youth that these perpetrators of crime will be punished for crimes like paper leaks.

But doesn’t this enlighten education experts and national thinkers that this blind pursuit of good results, coupled with government incompetence and the greed for profit without doing any work, has so encouraged the paper leak business that year after year, its perpetrators are seen repeating the same tactics here and there?

In such a situation, there is also a need to assess the frustration and disillusionment of those young people who, despite their hard work, cannot fit into this corrupt mold and are now ready to take to the streets. When our girls distribute flowers to the police officers who beat them and shame them, they should also offer these flowers to the leaders, mentors, and teachers who failed to create a proper educational environment for them
