Patiala: Body of PCR Police Constable found at home; Death by Gunshot Wound

The body of Jarnail Singh Sandhu, a police constable posted with the PCR wing, was recovered from his rented residence in the village of Sular, Patiala. According to reports, the Dakala police outpost located within the village received information regarding this incident late at night.

Amrik Singh, a resident of the same village, was the first to discover the body. The control room was immediately alerted regarding the matter. Upon receiving the information, multiple police teams, including the SHO of Pasiana, the DSP of Samana, and other officials, rushed to the scene. The police conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene during the night, and forensic teams were also summoned from Chandigarh. The police have taken custody of the body and have sent it to the mortuary at Rajindra Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the death had occurred several hours prior, as the bloodstains found at the scene had already coagulated. Jarnail Singh had been living in this rented house for the past three years, and it is reported that his native village is located near Banur.

Jarnail Singh had been married twice and had been battling depression for a long time. The police are investigating the case from all angles. The police have stated that no suicide note was recovered from the scene, and the actual cause of death can only be confirmed once the post-mortem report is received.
