Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Denies Chinese Incursion, Says Army Is Safeguarding Indian Territory

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday dismissed reports of a Chinese incursion into the state, asserting that there has been no intrusion and that the Indian Army is maintaining and safeguarding Indian territory along the border.

Responding to reports alleging Chinese intrusion in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Khandu described the claims as “rumours” and said he would speak to both the Army and local residents to verify the facts. He stressed that there was no reason for public concern at present.

CM dismisses incursion reports

Khandu said reports suggesting Chinese forces had entered Indian territory were not supported by official information available to the state government.

He reiterated that the Indian Army continues to maintain its positions along the border and is effectively securing the country’s territorial integrity.

Army to verify facts

The Chief Minister said he would seek inputs from Army officials as well as people living in the border areas to ascertain the situation on the ground.

His remarks came amid fresh speculation over alleged Chinese activities near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), though no official confirmation of any new incursion has been made by security agencies.

Border remains under close watch

Arunachal Pradesh shares a long border with China, and the region has frequently remained sensitive due to Beijing’s territorial claims over the state. Indian authorities have consistently maintained that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and that the armed forces remain fully prepared to safeguard the country’s borders.
