On the occasion of Manohar Lal Ji’s birthday, I would like to reflect on his strong determination and inspiring leadership journey. He is respected and admired by people across the country for his belief in “Nation First – Nation Above All.” For many years, he has chosen to celebrate his birthday through spiritual and community activities instead of grand celebrations. Through his social and political life, he has inspired countless people.

Especially the youth, he has encouraged them to rise above personal ambitions and dedicate themselves to the service of the nation. He is a living example of discipline, service, and unwavering commitment to the country. Manohar Lal, who started his life in a simple farmer’s family in Haryana, has always lived a life based on simplicity and hard work. His early exposure to real-life conditions helped him understand the struggles and aspirations of common people very deeply. One of his most special qualities is that, instead of chasing fame, he chose the path of simplicity and humility to achieve success.

His association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh played an important role in shaping the foundation of Manohar Lal Ji’s character. By choosing the disciplined and selfless life of a pracharak, he adopted the values of service and sacrifice. Dedicated to the purpose of serving society, he travelled across Haryana and other regions, facing a tough routine and very simple living conditions. These early years shaped his lifelong sense of detachment and his strong commitment to a larger purpose.

In 1994, his entry into public life through the Bharatiya Janata Party marked the beginning of a new chapter. His organizational skills and forward-thinking approach had a strong impact on governance. Serving two consecutive terms as the Chief Minister of Haryana, he brought a new level of administrative efficiency. I have seen how people benefited from his welfare-oriented policies such as transparent systems, online transfers, and merit-based recruitment. One of the most important achievements of his tenure was restoring people’s trust in the government. He ensured that the benefits of every government scheme reached those who truly needed them. Due to his 10 years of transparent and people-focused governance, the BJP was able to form the government in Haryana for the third time.

As the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, his efforts to improve the quality of urban life are highly commendable. Whether it is dealing with urban flooding, speeding up metro projects and smart cities, or promoting the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) to provide homes to millions, Manohar Lal Ji has been working with full dedication in all these areas. Under his leadership, the Swachh Bharat Mission has already transformed hundreds of waste sites into useful land. This clearly reflects his belief in turning challenges into opportunities.

As the Union Power Minister, Manohar Lal is playing an important role in managing India’s energy security during a complex and challenging global situation. His main focus is on building a self-reliant and sustainable energy sector, as well as managing infrastructure projects in sensitive border areas. He is an important member of the Modi 3.0 cabinet and is playing a key role in India’s rapid infrastructure growth, energy transition, and urban development initiatives.

Manohar Lal Ji is a true example of dedication and selfless service. During his nearly 10 years as Chief Minister, he donated the entire salary he received to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for the development of the nation soon after leaving office. He also gave his village house to be used for a school and a library. In addition, he sold his 1.5 acres of land and donated that money as well to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. In today’s time, such a level of dedication and generosity is very rare.

What truly sets Manohar Lal Ji apart is his message: “Make yourself useful to the world, and the world will take care of you.” This is a powerful reminder that selfless contribution is the highest form of success. On his birthday, we remember him not only as a leader but also as a person of honesty and strong principles. We pray to God to bless him with good health and a long life, so that he continues to serve the nation with the same courage and dedication
