New Delhi: An average of 25.2 per cent votes were cast in eight Lok Sabha seats till 11 am in Uttar Pradesh according to a release issued by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) here.
In Uttar Pradesh, The highest percentage of votes 29. 84 percent — were cast in Saharanpur while the lowest percentage of 20. 71 was reported from Rampur.
Polling has been going on peacefully, according to the CEO.
He said that malfunctioning in EVMs has also been reported in some places but the same was immediately rectified and polling was not disrupted.
Voter turnout in other states:

Apart from Uttar Pradesh, Voter turnout in Tamil Nadu stands at 23.72 percent, Uttarakhand at 24.83% and in West Negal at 33.56%. In Tripura, voter turnout remained at 33.28% till 11 am.

Lowest voter turnout has been recorded in Lakshadweep, which stands at 16.33 percent. In Madhya Pradesh 30.46%, Maharashtra 19.17%, Manipur 27.64% and in Jammu and Kashmir 22.60% voter turnout has been recorded.
