PM Modi to Release 22nd PM-Kisan Installment Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme today, providing financial assistance to millions of farmers across India. The installment will be released during a programme in Guwahati, Assam, where the Prime Minister is expected to interact with farmers and agricultural experts.

Under this installment, the government will transfer over ₹18,600 crore directly into the bank accounts of around 9.32 crore farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

The PM-Kisan scheme is one of the flagship welfare programmes of the central government aimed at providing financial stability and investment support to farmers.

₹2,000 to Be Credited to Farmers’ Accounts

Eligible beneficiaries under the scheme will receive ₹2,000 directly in their bank accounts as part of the latest installment. The PM-Kisan scheme provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers, distributed in three equal installments every four months.

The financial assistance helps farmers manage essential agricultural expenses such as seeds, fertilizers, irrigation, and labour costs. For many small and marginal farmers, the scheme has become an important source of support during the cropping season.

    PM-Kisan Scheme: Key Highlights

Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi aims to provide income support to landholding farmer families across the country.

Key features of the scheme include:

    • ₹6,000 annual financial aid to eligible farmers

    • Payment made in three installments of ₹2,000 each

    • Funds transferred directly to bank accounts via DBT

    • Beneficiaries identified based on state land records

The government has transferred thousands of crores of rupees to farmers since the scheme began, making it one of the largest farmer income support programmes in the world.

    Verification Drive Before 22nd Installment

Before releasing the latest installment, the government conducted a nationwide verification drive to ensure that only eligible farmers receive benefits.

Authorities reviewed beneficiary lists and removed ineligible entries to improve transparency. Farmers were also asked to complete e-KYC verification, Aadhaar linking, and land record validation to continue receiving payments under the scheme.

Officials say these steps are necessary to prevent fraud and ensure that the financial assistance reaches genuine beneficiaries.

    Uttar Pradesh Gets Largest Share

Among the states, Uttar Pradesh will receive the largest share of funds, with more than two crore farmers expected to benefit from the latest installment. A significant portion of the total funds will be transferred to farmers in the state as part of the nationwide distribution.

Several states have also planned local events and awareness programmes to mark the release of the installment and highlight government initiatives for farmers.

Farmers Can Check Beneficiary Status Online

Farmers can verify whether they will receive the payment by checking their status on the official PM-Kisan portal. They can use their Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account details to track their installment status.

Authorities have advised farmers to ensure their e-KYC and bank account details are updated to avoid delays in receiving the payment.

    Strengthening Income Support for Farmers

The release of the 22nd installment highlights the government’s continued focus on strengthening financial support for farmers and boosting agricultural productivity.

With more than 9 crore farmers expected to benefit, the scheme continues to play a crucial role in supporting rural livelihoods and strengthening India’s agricultural sector.
