Patna, Bihar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday lauded the people of Bihar for their historic voter turnout in the first phase of the Assembly elections, terming it as a “testament to their faith” in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at both the Centre and the state.

“People of Bihar have broken all records; this is the biggest ever polling percentage in the state since Independence. Close to 65 per cent of voting took place in the first phase.

This shows that the youth, farmers and women of Bihar are coming to bless the BJP-led NDA,” the Prime Minister said while addressing a rally in Aurangabad.

‘End of Red Terror Under NDA Rule’

Recalling the era of violence during the RJD-Congress regime, PM Modi said that Aurangabad and neighbouring regions had long suffered under Naxal influence but were freed from it under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s governance.

“This region was once afflicted with Maoist terror. People were scared to step out during the jungle raj. After ‘Sushashan’ came to Bihar under Nitish Kumar, Naxal terror ended. Following the BJP government’s crackdown on Red terror at the Centre, peace and normalcy were restored,” he said.

‘Promises Fulfilled: Ram Mandir, Article 370, and OROP’

Listing his government’s major achievements, PM Modi highlighted the BJP’s record of delivering on its commitments.

“We promised the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, abrogation of Article 370, and implementation of One Rank, One Pension for the Armed Forces — and we fulfilled all of them within a fixed timeframe,” he said.

He also recalled his earlier vow to avenge terror attacks, adding, “It was from the soil of Bihar that I promised to avenge the Pahalgam attacks. Didn’t our forces give a fitting reply to the perpetrators? The entire world saw India’s strength.”

‘Beware of Mahagathbandhan’s Empty Promises’

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister urged voters not to be swayed by the “fake promises” of the opposition alliance.

“If they return to power, it will mean the return of ‘katta sarkar’ (gun rule),” PM Modi warned, asserting that the NDA’s governance model focuses on peace, progress, and people’s welfare.
