PM Modi extends greetings to Goddess Kushmanda on the fourth day of Navratri

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended his greetings to the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri, the fourth day dedicated to Goddess Kushmanda.

PM Modi wrote on the social media platform X, “I bow to Goddess Kushmanda, the symbol of indomitable courage and spiritual strength. May her divine energy infuse new consciousness into every heart.”

In another post, he said, “There is immense power in devotion to the Mother Goddess. Worshiping the Mother Goddess fills the hearts of devotees with positive energy.”

CM Yogi Adityanath also extended his best wishes
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also posted on X, saying, “May the lives of all devotees be illuminated with happiness, prosperity, and good health by the grace of Mother Kushmanda, the mother of the universe. May the entire creation prosper.”

Mother Kushmanda is worshipped on the fourth day
Mother Kushmanda is worshipped on the fourth day of Navratri. The name ‘Kushmanda’ is derived from ‘ku’ (small), ‘ushma’ (energy), and ‘anda’ (universe).

Mother Kushmanda rides a lion and has eight hands. She holds a lotus, a kamandalu (water pot), a bow and arrow, a pot of nectar, a rosary, a mace, and a chakra.

According to Hindu beliefs, Mother Kushmanda is considered the presiding deity of the solar system. Worshiping her removes diseases, sorrows, and defects.

Devotees throng temples across the country
Temples across the country witnessed large crowds of devotees on this occasion. People were seen queuing outside temples since early morning to offer prayers.

Navratri, which means “nine nights,” is a festival dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her nine forms (Navdurga). This festival is celebrated with reverence and devotion across the country.
