PM Modi Hails Seva Sankalp Yatris, Says Youth Are Backbone Of Viksit Bharat

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday interacted virtually with Seva Sankalp Yatris travelling from Vadnagar to Varanasi and praised their spirit of service, describing their efforts as “truly inspiring”.

During the interaction, Modi said Vadnagar and Varanasi hold special significance for him, describing Vadnagar as his birthplace and Kashi as his “workplace”.

Modi Highlights Vadnagar-Varanasi Seva Yatra

Modi said the Vadnagar-Varanasi Yatra reflects the historical and spiritual significance of the two cities, which, according to him, have remained vibrant for more than 1,000 years.

“For me, Vadnagar is my birthplace, and Kashi is my second workplace,” Modi said, adding that Kashi has the blessings of Baba Vishwanath, while Vadnagar has the blessings and affection associated with Hatkeshwar Mahadev.

The Prime Minister appreciated the Seva Yatris for carrying out a large-scale service campaign between the two cities. He said hearing about their experiences made him feel as though he was travelling alongside them.

Modi also praised participants for sharing photographs and videos from their journey and said he was grateful to see so many people associated with the initiative.

PM Modi Praises Spirit Of Selfless Service

Recalling his experience of organising journeys and programmes during his time working in the organisation, Modi said such initiatives can involve challenges related to changing weather, locations and requirements.

He said the participants had continued their journey with enthusiasm despite such difficulties.

Highlighting the importance of selfless service, Modi said the spirit of seva had also inspired various welfare initiatives, referring to schemes such as Ayushman Yojana.

He said the journey between Vadnagar and Varanasi would have given participants an opportunity to experience how such service-oriented efforts have been encouraged.

Modi said politics, elections and governance each have their own place, while emphasising the broader objective of nation-building.

“Politics has its own place, elections have their own place and governance has its own place. But we are the people who work to build the nation. We move forward with the resolve of building a Viksit Bharat,” he said.

Highlighting the role of young people in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, Modi said greater emphasis needs to be placed on the participation of youth in the country’s development.

“By 2047, in the vision of Viksit Bharat, we have to strengthen the role of our youth. Today, the youth are the backbone of Viksit Bharat and they are also its future beneficiaries,” he said.
