PM Modi inaugurates Rs 16,000 cr. projects in Ajmer, says promises fulfilled

Ajmer, Rajasthan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a slew of development projects worth over Rs 16,000 crore in Ajmer, asserting that the government’s development promises are being translated into reality at a rapid pace. The event drew large crowds and marked a major push in infrastructure, healthcare and employment initiatives.

Addressing a public gathering after the inauguration ceremony, Modi emphasized that the “promises being fulfilled” reflect the sustained efforts of the government to accelerate development across sectors. The projects unveiled span urban development, roads and highways, drinking water systems, energy infrastructure, irrigation and industrial growth.

    Massive Infrastructure Expansion

One of the major highlights of the Ajmer visit was the inauguration and foundation-laying of 43 development projects with a combined outlay exceeding Rs 16,680 crore, spread across central and state government initiatives. These projects aim to enhance connectivity, bolster public utilities and improve the overall quality of life in Rajasthan.

Several national highway works were inaugurated, including the four-lane Greenfield Expressway between Bandikui and Jaipur, part of the strategic push for better road connectivity. The Prime Minister also launched key sections of expressway corridors like the Delhi-Vadodara Access Controlled Greenfield Expressway and major segments of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor.

In addition, foundation stones were laid for elevated urban road projects in Jodhpur city and state highways such as the Malbamori-Mangrol-Baran State Highway, which are expected to accelerate intra-state travel and logistics.

Water, Power and Renewable Energy Push

Beyond roads, the Prime Minister emphasized improving basic services. He laid foundation stones for drinking water projects under the Nonera Major Drinking Water Project and the Parwan Akawad Major Drinking Water Project, targeted at expanding access to clean, safe water supplies in rural and urban areas alike.

On the energy front, systems for power transmission from renewable energy Zones (REZs) were inaugurated to ensure seamless evacuation of green power, aligning with broader goals of clean energy expansion. Several grid substations valued at strategic capacities were also included to enhance infrastructure reliability.

HPV Vaccination Launch and Public Health Focus

In a major healthcare initiative launched alongside the infrastructure push, PM Modi flagged off a nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign from Ajmer. The campaign targets adolescent girls to help prevent cervical cancer, a significant health concern, underlining the government’s focus on preventive healthcare.

The vaccination drive is expected to reach millions of girls across the country, marking a major milestone in public health strategy. Officials highlighted that the initiative represents a proactive step toward improving women’s health through early immunization.

    Employment and Youth Empowerment

As part of the ceremony, the Prime Minister distributed appointment letters to more than 21,800 newly recruited youths selected for employment in various state departments and organizations in Rajasthan. This move was hailed as a boost for job seekers and a key step in empowering young people across the region.

The appointments span important sectors including public health, administrative services and technical roles, reinforcing the government’s commitment to expanding employment opportunities for the state’s youth.

    Public Response and Significance

The massive rollout of development projects and public welfare measures in Ajmer was met with enthusiastic response from residents and local stakeholders, who lauded the focus on long-term growth and improved infrastructure. Political observers noted that the event underscores the government’s drive to showcase tangible development outcomes ahead of upcoming local body polls in the region.

Overall, the Ajmer event reflected a blend of infrastructure momentum, healthcare prioritization and employment generation echoing the government’s narrative that development commitments are being delivered effectively on the ground.
