PM Modi to Launch ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan’ on August 2

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan’ on August 2, marking the beginning of a nationwide campaign aimed at mobilising young people against drug abuse and promoting the vision of a drug-free India.

The initiative will be launched as a Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation) movement, led by MY Bharat youth volunteers, with the goal of encouraging the country’s youth to actively contribute to the vision of Nasha Mukt Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047.

One Crore Youth to Take Anti-Drug Pledge Across 10,000 Locations

According to the campaign plan, nearly 10,000 locations across the country will participate simultaneously after the Prime Minister launches the initiative. More than one crore (10 million) youth are expected to take the Nasha Mukti Pledge, committing themselves to building a drug-free India.

The campaign will involve MY Bharat volunteers, the National Service Scheme (NSS), youth clubs, schools, colleges, universities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), industrial associations, and over 125 spiritual organisations, making it one of the country’s largest community-driven anti-drug initiatives.

100-Week Nationwide Campaign to Promote Healthy Lifestyle

The government has designed the programme as a 100-week sustained Jan Bhagidari movement rather than a one-day event to ensure long-term public participation and awareness.

Every Sunday, activities such as sports events, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programmes, art competitions, nukkad nataks (street plays) and community outreach programmes will be organised across the country to engage young people and promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles.

Volunteers and organisations making outstanding contributions to the campaign will be recognised at the 50th, 75th and 100th week milestones.

Campaign Aligned With Vision of Viksit Bharat 2047

The campaign is aligned with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ and seeks to strengthen the national resolve towards achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047 through mass public participation.

According to the organisers, the central message of the campaign is that “drug-free youth are the greatest strength of Viksit Bharat”, with the initiative aiming to inspire young citizens to play an active role in nation-building while staying away from substance abuse.
