PM Modi launches HPV vaccination in Ajmer, ensure daughters of country are healthy, prosperous

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning launched the nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign in Ajmer, Rajasthan, aimed at preventing cervical cancer and promoting the health of the country’s daughters.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said, “We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the daughters of the country are healthy and prosperous.” During the event, he also laid foundation stones for several projects and handed over appointment letters to young colleagues.

Focus on Girls’ Health and Cervical Cancer Prevention

According to an official statement, the campaign targets around 1.15 crore girls aged 14 years every year across all States and Union Territories. The vaccine will be provided free of cost at designated government health facilities, including Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Primary Health Centres), Community Health Centres, Sub-District and District Hospitals, and Government Medical Colleges.

Safety Measures and Medical Supervision

Each vaccination session will be supervised by trained medical officers and skilled healthcare teams. All sites have functional Cold Chain Points (CCPs) and are linked to 24×7 government health facilities to ensure immediate medical support in case of any rare adverse events following immunisation (AEFI).

The vaccination will be voluntary, with informed consent obtained from parents or guardians before administration.
