    PM Modi to Launch ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ to Fight Substance Abuse

    New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ on Sunday through video conferencing, with an aim to encourage young people to stay away from substance abuse and become partners in building a drug-free India.

    The campaign will begin at 11 am and mark the start of a 100-week nationwide Jan Bhagidari (public participation) movement focused on creating awareness against drug addiction and promoting healthy lifestyles among youth.

    Nationwide Activities to Promote Drug-Free India

    Under the campaign, various activities will be organised every Sunday across the country to involve citizens in the fight against substance abuse. These programmes will include sports events, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural activities, awareness drives, street plays, discussions and art competitions.

    The initiative aims to bring together educational institutions, youth organisations, NGOs, industry groups and spiritual organisations on a common platform to strengthen community participation.

    Youth From Over 10,000 Locations to Join Campaign

    According to officials, young participants from more than 10,000 locations across the country will take part in the launch programme. MY Bharat volunteers, National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers, youth clubs, schools, colleges, universities, NGOs and other organisations are expected to participate virtually.

    The campaign is aligned with the government’s vision of a ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ and aims to strengthen public participation towards the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.

    The initiative highlights the message that drug-free youth are a key strength for a developed India and seeks to inspire young citizens to actively contribute towards creating a healthier society.
