New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after attending the Dharma Dhwajarohan Utsav at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, arrived in Kurukshetra on Tuesday.

He inaugurated ‘Panchjanya’, a structure created in honour of Lord Krishna’s sacred conch.

He was accompanied by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who wore a traditional ‘kesari’ turban during the visit.

Focus on Heritage, Spirituality and Cultural Events

Modi visited the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra, which is set to open soon to visitors from India and abroad, and is scheduled to participate in several major cultural and spiritual programmes.

His visit aims to uphold the legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur and highlight Haryana’s rich cultural heritage, alongside taking part in the International Gita Mahotsav – 2025.

Before reaching Kurukshetra, the Prime Minister marked the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur, acknowledging his sacrifice for the protection of faith and humanity.

Commemorations and Security Tightened

To honour the Guru’s legacy, the state government and the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee are organising events dedicated to his martyrdom, which the Prime Minister is attending. Modi will also join the Maha Aarti at the International Gita Mahotsav.

Chief Minister Saini highlighted the government’s efforts to spread awareness of the Gurus’ sacrifices and contributions, emphasising the importance of passing this legacy to future generations.

With the Prime Minister’s arrival, Kurukshetra district has been placed on high alert, with extensive multi-layered security measures put in place to ensure complete VVIP protection.
