PM Modi pays tribute to former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik on his birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tribute to former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik on his birth anniversary, saying his contribution to the nation and his unwavering commitment towards development is exemplary.

Freedom fighter and prominent regional satrap Biju Patnaik, who was a key member of anti-Congress coalitions for decades, was the Chief Minister of Odisha twice. He was also a Union Minister. His son Naveen Patnaik founded the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) after his father’s death in 1997 and has been the Chief Minister of Odisha since 2000.

PM Modi said in a post on X, that I pay tribute to the great Biju Patnaik ji on his birth anniversary. His visionary leadership and indomitable spirit will continue to inspire generations. His contribution to our nation and his unwavering commitment towards development is exemplary.

The Prime Minister also said that on this special day, he looks forward to inaugurating various projects by being among the people of Odisha.

PM Modi will reach Bhubaneswar this afternoon on a one-day visit to Odisha. From there he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs 19,600 crore at Chandikhol in Jajpur district. He will also address the public meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party in Benapur, Chandikhol.
