Pray for Well-being of All Indians: PM Modi Offers Prayers at Srisailam Temple

Kurnool: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday visited the sacred Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district, and prayed for the health and prosperity of all Indians.

“Prayed at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam at Srisailam. Prayed for the well-being and good health of my fellow Indians. May everyone be happy and prosperous,” PM Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter), sharing photographs from his visit.

Accompanied by CM Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Temple priests and officials welcomed the dignitaries at the entrance and conducted special rituals.

The Srisailam temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and 52 Shakti Peeths, is revered for the coexistence of Lord Shiva (Mallikarjuna Swamy) and Goddess Parvati (Bhramaramba Devi) within the same premises.

This was PM Modi’s first visit to the ancient shrine, making him the fourth Prime Minister to do so — after Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and P. V. Narasimha Rao.

Visit to Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra

After offering prayers, the Prime Minister visited the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, a memorial complex featuring a Dhyana Mandir (Meditation Hall) and scale models of Pratapgad, Rajgad, Raigad, and Shivneri Forts at its four corners.

The Kendra was established to commemorate Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s visit to Srisailam in 1677. The complex also houses a statue of the Maratha king in meditation.

Leaders of the Sree Shivaji Memorial Committee briefed the Prime Minister on the site’s historical significance.

Warm Reception and Public Address Scheduled

On his arrival at Kurnool Airport, PM Modi was received by Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, CM Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. From there, he traveled to Sundipenta Helipad and then proceeded by road to the temple.

Following the temple visit, PM Modi is scheduled to address the “Super GST Super Saving” public meeting at Raaga Mayuri Green Hills, Nannuru village. The event forms part of the state government’s awareness campaign on next-generation GST reforms, aimed at promoting financial transparency and efficiency.

Projects Worth ₹13,430 Crore to Be Launched

During his visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth around ₹13,430 crore across key sectors including industry, power transmission, roads, railways, defence manufacturing, and petroleum & natural gas.

This marks PM Modi’s fifth visit to Andhra Pradesh since the TDP-led NDA returned to power in the state last year.
