PM Modi to throw open World Food India 2025 today, over 90 countries participating in event

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate World Food India (WFI) 2025 on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The mega event will position India as a “Global Food Hub” for food processing and supply.

Largest Edition of WFI So Far

According to an official statement, this edition is set to be the biggest ever, with participation from over 90 countries, 2,000+ exhibitors, and tens of thousands of stakeholders across the food value chain – from farm to fork.

Senior government leaders, investors, global food business executives, and key industry players will be part of the congregation, making it one of the most significant gatherings in the sector’s history.

Platform for Collaboration and Innovation

The event will serve as a single platform for producers, food processors, equipment manufacturers, logistics providers, cold chain operators, technology innovators, startups, and retailers from around the world to showcase their strengths.

Highlights include high-level knowledge sessions, policy dialogues, and expert panels featuring global thought leaders, policymakers, and industry specialists.

Showcasing Food-Tech and Culinary Heritage

The exhibition will spotlight advancements in food processing, packaging, machinery, cold chain, and allied sectors. Dedicated B2B and B2G networking sessions will create opportunities for strategic collaborations and partnerships.

Visitors can also expect culinary showcases and chef competitions, celebrating India’s rich food heritage while embracing global trends in sustainable and futuristic foods.

International Events Alongside WFI 2025

Two major international events will run in parallel:

• The 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit, hosted by FSSAI.
• The 24th India International Seafood Show (IISS), organized by SEAI, highlighting India’s rising seafood exports and global trade linkages.

Driving Vision 2047 Through Food Sector Growth

Aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047, WFI 2025 emphasizes boosting farmer incomes, rural prosperity, job creation in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, and reducing post-harvest losses.

The event is anchored on five strategic pillars: sustainability, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, global leadership, and innovation. Focus areas include climate-smart technologies, nutrition-driven products, advanced food-tech, and global market integration while strengthening micro-enterprises, capacity building, and Make in India.

Strong International Participation

This year’s edition will feature New Zealand and Saudi Arabia as Partner Countries, while Japan, UAE, Vietnam, and Russia will participate as Focus Countries.
