Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for strong global participation in the India AI Impact Summit 2026, underscoring India’s rapid technological progress and positioning the nation as a key player in shaping the future of artificial intelligence on the world stage.

The five-day India AI Impact Summit 2026, taking place from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, is drawing leaders, innovators, and policymakers from around the world. Delegates from 20 countries and participants from more than 100 nations are expected to attend, making it one of the largest global AI gatherings hosted in the Global South.

PM Modi highlighted that the global turnout reflects India’s rapid progress in science and technology. He welcomed delegates and said that people from across the globe coming to India for the summit is a matter of pride, showcasing the country’s growing capabilities in digital innovation and AI deployment.

Modi emphasised that the summit offers a platform for international cooperation on responsible and inclusive AI development. With leaders, CEOs, researchers, and innovators on board, India aims to promote knowledge exchange and partnerships that can shape future AI policies and applications.

The theme of the summit, “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” meaning welfare and happiness for all stresses human-centric and socially beneficial AI applications. Discussions will focus on how AI can transform sectors like healthcare, education, governance, agriculture, and enterprise while ensuring ethical and inclusive use globally.

PM Modi also pitched India as a future AI hub, inviting global data to reside in the country and leveraging its expanding digital infrastructure. He highlighted initiatives like tax incentives to boost data centres and AI innovation across sectors.
