Police constables will be deployed in panchayats to break the network of chitta, says CM Sukhu

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that a dope test for chitta will be mandatory in the first stage of police recruitment. In this, mainly chitta (Heroin) will be tested. A detailed report has been sought in this regard.

The Chief Minister was talking informally to journalists in Shimla on Thursday. The CM said that to break the network of chitta, one police constable, one ASHA worker and one panchayat secretary will be put on duty in five to six panchayats. After this, action will also be taken against cannabis addiction in the next phase.

PIT-NDPS Act implemented 

He said that the government has implemented the PIT-NDPS Act for the first time. Under this, whoever is suspected of chitta and is already involved in the drug business, will be taken into custody. A decision will also be taken in the coming days within the ambit of law regarding the property made from chitta.

Strict action will also be taken against government employees involved in the consumption and smuggling of chitta. The CM said that the society will have to be aware about drug addiction, only then we can all together curb it.
