Using technical investigation and cyber tracking, police recovered 120 lost mobile phones and returned them to their rightful owners. Some of these phones were brought via courier from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, while many were brought back by bus from various districts of Punjab.
Police contacted the phone users, explained the situation, and asked for their cooperation. Officials stated that legal action could be taken if necessary.
Success achieved through cyber tracking
SSP Harvinder Singh Virk stated that teams from the District Sanjha Kendra and CIA staff, led by SP Vineet Ahlawat, worked tirelessly to trace the mobile phones.
Lost mobile phone complaints are registered at the Sanjha Kendra and uploaded to the CEIR portal. Data analysis and technical investigations then trace the location of the phones, and with the help of the relevant police stations and CIA teams, they are recovered.
