Shimla: In Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s Principal Advisor (IT) Gokul Butail has decided not to take salary. Gokul Butail will now take only Rs.1 as salary from the government. His letter to the government is going viral on social media.
Gokul Butail said that his decision is not for first time. He said that in 2023 when there was a natural disaster in Himachal Pradesh. After that, in view of the situation of the state facing natural disaster and economic crisis, in December 2023, he had decided to give up the salary and allowances received from the government. From December 2023, he is taking one rupee as salary and allowance. He told that there is a process to give up salary and allowances from the government, which takes time to complete, his letter has now been approved.
Himachal Pradesh is currently facing an economic crisis. The state has a debt of more than 93 thousand crores. Ten thousand crores of liabilities of the employees are pending. Recently, there has been a ruckus in Himachal Pradesh over the facilities given to employees and leaders. This decision of Gokul Butail is also being linked to this.
