The Punjab BJP has entered election mode and will be seeking suggestions from the public to prepare their election manifesto, or “Sankalp Patra.” This was announced by Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar at a press conference in Chandigarh on Friday.
During the conference, Jakhar also criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, describing him as threatening and intimidating towards fellow leaders. Jakhar claimed that Mann’s behaviour created an atmosphere of fear among young leaders, preventing them from presenting their views in the House. Jakhar also accused Congress of collaborating with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), claiming that they had surrendered to them.
He cited examples of seat sharing in Delhi and Kurukshetra, as well as the recent Chandigarh Mayor elections as evidence of this collaboration. Jakhar stated that the BJP is preparing for 13 seats, with more information becoming available soon. Jakhar also touched on the poor law and order situation in Punjab, saying that Congress leaders were fearful of receiving ransom calls and being intimidated by the Chief Minister.
He claimed that this fear prevented the development of the region. Finally, Jakhar confirmed that Preneet Kaur would be joining the BJP in Delhi, and that he viewed the agreement between the BJP and Akali Dal as necessary.
