    32.5 kg of poppy husk recovered from a house in the border area, one accused arrested

    In a major crackdown against drugs, the Bakhasar police in Rajasthan’s Barmer district seized 32 kg 650 grams of poppy husk from a house. One accused has been arrested and is being interrogated. Police are now investigating where the drugs were procured from and where they were intended to be supplied.

    House Raided Following a Tip

    ASP Chunaram Jat stated that the “Drug-Free Barmer” campaign is being conducted under the direction of Police Headquarters and Jodhpur Range. As part of this campaign, a special team was formed under the leadership of Bakhasar Police Station in-charge Rajuram, under the supervision of DSP Jetharam.

    Police received information that illegal drugs were being supplied in Sarala village. Based on information, the team raided the home of Narsiga Ram, son of Devaram, a resident of Prabhat Nagar in Sarala village.

    Doda-post found in plastic bags

    During the search, police recovered 32 kg 650 grams of doda-post from plastic bags kept in the house. Following this, the accused, Narsiga Ram, was taken into custody and interrogated.

    Police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act. Officers are now investigating the entire network, including where the accused obtained the drugs and to whom he intended to supply them.

    Border angle also under investigation

    It is noteworthy that Sarala village is located near the India-Pakistan border. Therefore, the police are also investigating the possibility of drug smuggling through the border.

    Head Constable Peera Ram, Constable Jagdish, Dinesh Singh, Kanwara Ram, and Derama Ram were involved in this operation.
