Positive economic momentum ahead of festive season

India’s progressiveness cannot be denied not only by friendly countries but even by those who dislike its progress. The country has achieved numerous achievements in recent times, demonstrating that India is not only on a path of continuous progress but is also poised to achieve its dominant position in the next century. It has long been said that India has become the world’s fourth-largest economic power.

Now, even Britain has entered into a free trade agreement with India, agreeing to recognize India’s status as the third-largest economic power for a period of two years. Despite calling India a major country and the Indian Prime Minister an influential friend, US President Donald Trump tried hard to defeat India commercially. In a tariff war, Trump imposed high tariffs on Indian exports, which seemed to have a detrimental effect on India’s export markets.

India is a major textile exporter, and tariffs on textiles have been increased. However, Indian exporters are pleased with the 100 percent tariff imposed by the United States on Chinese textiles. This will make Indian textiles cheaper than Chinese ones, and Indian exporters hope that there will be no decline in exports.

In July, US President Donald Trump asked major tech companies like Google and Apple to reduce their investments in India. However, in August, Apple announced that it would invest Rs 22,000 crore to increase its iPhone manufacturing capacity to 60 million units annually. Google also announced a new investment of Rs 1.33 lakh crore in India. Following the US and Singapore, major Google centers will also open in India. Are these announcements not a snub to Trump by American companies?
