Dhaula, Punjab: Punjab’s leading industrial house, Trident Group, faced a sudden raid today at its Dhaula-based facility by the State Pollution Control Board.

The inspection has been ongoing inside the factory for nearly two hours. This action has created a stir in both industrial and political circles across the state.

Political Angle Raises Questions

The development gains significance as Trident Group’s founder, Rajinder Gupta, recently left the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joined the BJP. He is among the seven Rajya Sabha MPs who switched from AAP to BJP.

Given this context, the sudden raid by a department under the state government just days after his political shift has become a major topic of discussion in political corridors.

Inspection Team Conducts Detailed Investigation

According to information, around 10 officials from the pollution department are part of the team. They arrived at the Dhaula facility in 3–4 vehicles. The team is still inside the factory, carrying out a thorough inspection of the plant and essential documents. The unannounced nature of the raid has created panic within the factory premises.

Wealth Details of Rajinder Gupta’s Family

Despite being a millionaire, Rajinder Gupta reportedly owns neither a personal car nor a house.

As per the affidavit submitted during the Rajya Sabha elections, Gupta is a 10th-pass graduate. He does not own any agricultural land or commercial property. However, his family possesses total assets worth ₹5,053 crore, including ₹4,338.77 crore in movable assets and ₹615.74 crore in immovable assets. The family also owns jewellery worth ₹11.99 crore.

Debt-Free Business Empire

Interestingly, despite building such a massive industrial empire, the Gupta family has no outstanding debt.

Rajinder Gupta completed his 10th standard in 1975 from a government model high school under the Punjab School Education Board in Ludhiana.
