Pravasi Rajasthani Divas: Goyal urges diaspora as state ambassadors

The first-ever Pravasi Rajasthani Divas was inaugurated on 10 December 2025 at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC), Jaipur. The event marked a historic effort by the Rajasthan government to bring together the global Rajasthani diaspora known as Non-Resident Rajasthani’s (NRRs) and strengthen their connection with their home state. Over 8,700 participants from across India and abroad had registered for the event, reflecting the diaspora’s strong desire to contribute to the state’s development.

Piyush Goyal Urges Diaspora as Brand Ambassadors

Union Minister Piyush Goyal, addressing the gathering, called on the Rajasthani diaspora to act as “global brand ambassadors” for the state. He stressed that Rajasthan’s greatest asset is the dependability and trustworthiness of its people, which serves as a strong foundation for long-term business and trade relations.

Goyal highlighted the effective follow-through of previous investment initiatives, noting that about a quarter of the MoUs signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit have already been implemented. “The global Rajasthani diaspora has immense potential to showcase Rajasthan’s strengths on international platforms,” he remarked, urging them to leverage their networks, skills, and capital to promote their homeland.

He also emphasized the role of diaspora in enhancing the state’s global identity, asserting that their engagement could drive both economic and cultural growth. According to him, Non-Resident Rajasthani’s can serve as a bridge between local businesses and international markets, ensuring that Rajasthan’s investment potential is recognized worldwide.

Investment Push and Policy Launches

As part of the event, the Rajasthan government plans to sign MoUs worth ₹1 lakh crore across multiple sectors, including tourism, energy, infrastructure, education, health, and mining. In addition, the government is set to unveil 13 new policies aimed at facilitating investment, promoting industrial growth, and improving ease of doing business in the state.

A major highlight of the Divas is the “Progress Path” exhibition, which provides an overview of Rajasthan’s developmental journey, infrastructure projects, and future initiatives. The exhibition aims to connect the diaspora with the state’s growth story while offering insights into investment opportunities. Sector-specific sessions also provided a forum for dialogue between investors, policymakers, and diaspora members, focusing on practical collaboration and long-term business prospects.
