President Droupadi Murmu’s Himachal Visit: Arriving in Shimla Today; Traffic restrictions imposed

The police have made robust arrangements regarding security and traffic management in view of President Droupadi Murmu’s proposed visit to Shimla, commencing on Monday. The final preparations were finalized on Sunday. A motorcade rehearsal was also conducted during the afternoon hours, running from the city center to the Presidential Retreat located in Chharabra.

Traffic flow was normalized following the conclusion of the rehearsal. The District Police stated that over a thousand police personnel have been deployed for the duration of the President’s visit. All preparations—including anti-sabotage checks, access control, surveillance, route security, and emergency response protocols have been completed. According to the police, no traffic restrictions have been imposed within the city on Monday.

The general public and tourists may travel without hindrance. Temporary traffic restrictions may be enforced on certain routes only during periods of VVIP movement. Heavy vehicles may be diverted for brief intervals.

Strict Action Against Illegal Parking
The police have advised the general public to plan their journeys before leaving their homes and to adhere to the traffic management directives issued by the police department. Guidelines have also been issued strictly prohibiting illegal parking. Priority will be accorded to ambulances and fire tenders. Hotel and guest house operators have been instructed to maintain records of their guests. The public has been urged to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police. Shopkeepers and vendors situated along the routes have been requested to keep their immediate surroundings clean and to cooperate with security checks.
