New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a three-day visit to Uttarakhand from November 2 to 4, during which she will attend multiple events, including addressing the state Assembly to mark 25 years since the formation of Uttarakhand, officials said on Saturday.

To Attend Convocation at University of Patanjali

On November 2, President Murmu will participate in the second convocation ceremony of the University of Patanjali in Haridwar, marking the beginning of her visit to the hill state.

Silver Jubilee Address and Raj Bhavan Centenary Event

On November 3, the President will address the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly in Dehradun as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the state’s creation.

Later the same day, she will attend a special function commemorating 125 years of the establishment of the Raj Bhavan in Nainital, an official statement said.

Visit to Kainchi Dham and Kumaun University Convocation

On November 4, President Murmu will visit the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram at Kainchi Dham, a revered spiritual site, before chairing the 20th convocation of Kumaun University in Nainital. She will return to New Delhi later that day.

Uttarakhand Marks 25 Years of Statehood

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently announced a special two-day Assembly session to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Uttarakhand’s formation.

“Over the past 25 years, our state has progressed through many ups and downs. Since its formation, there has been a long journey of development,” CM Dhami said.

Uttarakhand was created on November 9, 2000, as the 27th state of India, carved out of northern Uttar Pradesh. Initially named Uttaranchal, it was renamed Uttarakhand in 2007.

The demand for a separate state arose from decades of activism by the hill communities, who sought better representation, development, and preservation of their cultural identity.

Focus on Youth and Employment

Reaffirming his government’s priorities, CM Dhami said the youth and students remain at the centre of state policy.

“Over the past four years, our government has transparently provided more than 25,000 jobs,” he noted.

The President’s visit coincides with the state’s milestone celebrations, symbolising both Uttarakhand’s journey of progress and the nation’s recognition of its unique cultural and developmental identity.
