New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu will undertake a State visit to Moldova, North Macedonia and Romania from July 19 to 25, 2026, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday.

The visit is aimed at strengthening India’s bilateral ties with the three European nations and expanding cooperation in areas including trade, agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, information technology and education.

First-Ever Visit by Indian President to Moldova

President Murmu will begin her visit with a trip to Moldova on July 20 at the invitation of Moldovan President Maia Sandu. This will be the first-ever visit by an Indian President to Moldova.

During the visit, President Murmu will hold discussions with President Sandu and meet Moldova’s Parliament President Igor Grosu. She will also interact with members of the Moldova-India Parliamentary Friendship Group, participate in a Business Forum and engage with the Indian community.

The MEA said the visit would mark an important milestone in India-Moldova relations, with both countries exploring greater cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, IT and education.

President Murmu to Visit North Macedonia

After Moldova, President Murmu will travel to North Macedonia from July 21-22 at the invitation of President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

This will also be the first-ever visit by an Indian President to North Macedonia. During the visit, she is scheduled to hold talks with President Siljanovska-Davkova and Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski.

She will also meet the President of the North Macedonia Assembly and address the Assembly. The President will participate in the India-North Macedonia Business Forum, focusing on strengthening economic cooperation in areas such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science and technology, and IT services.

Romania Visit to Boost India-Europe Partnership

President Murmu will conclude her European tour with a visit to Romania from July 23-25 at the invitation of Romanian President Nicusor Dan.

The visit will be the first visit by an Indian President to Romania in more than 30 years. During her stay, President Murmu will hold talks with President Dan and interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

She will also meet Romanian parliamentary leaders, participate in the India-Romania Business Forum and interact with members of the Indian community.

The MEA said Romania’s role as a partner of India in the European Union and the conclusion of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement could further strengthen bilateral economic cooperation in the coming years.
