President Murmu visits Ayodhya Ram Temple on Navratri, installs Shri Ram Yantra

Uttar Pradesh: On the first day of Navratri, President Droupadi Murmu visited the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. After offering prayers to Ram Lalla, she installed the Shri Ram Yantra at the Ram Darbar located on the second floor. Additionally, she toured the entire Ram Temple complex.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath briefed the President on the ongoing construction activities related to the temple.

The President remarked, “Lord Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya. It is a privilege for me to set foot on this sacred land.”

The President arrived at Ayodhya Airport from Delhi at approximately 10:30 AM, where she was welcomed by Governor Anandiben Patel and the Chief Minister.

CM Yogi’s Statement; Takes Aim at the Opposition

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated, “Today, while many countries across the world are experiencing turmoil and war, India remains at peace. This is the new and transforming India.”

Taking a dig at the Samajwadi Party, he added, “In the past, faith was often disparaged and dismissed as mere superstition. The very individuals who engaged in such behavior were the ones holding power in Uttar Pradesh and the country. For them, even speaking about the Ram Temple, the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, or Mathura-Vrindavan was akin to endorsing superstition.”

Second Visit to Ayodhya; Departs for Mathura

This marks the President’s second visit to Ayodhya since the *Pran Pratishtha* (consecration ceremony) of Ram Lalla. Her previous visit to Ayodhya took place on May 1, 2024.

After spending approximately five hours in Ayodhya, the President departed for Mathura at 3:00 PM. There, she is scheduled to visit the ISKCON Temple and the Prem Mandir.

Furthermore, she is also scheduled to meet with Premanand Maharaj on March 20.
