Prevention of child marriages: Rural Administration active, control room setup

In the Sirohi district of Rajasthan, the administration has taken strict measures to prevent potential child marriages during Akshaya Tritiya, Peepal Purnima, and other such occasions. Acting on the directives of the District Collector, various departments have been mobilized, and a control room has also been established specifically for the prevention of child marriages.

Given the likelihood of child marriages occurring in the rural areas of the district, the administration has initiated all necessary preparations. District Collector and District Magistrate Rohitashva Singh Tomar has issued directives to all concerned departments to ensure the effective prevention of child marriages.

Meanwhile, a significant meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mrs. Savitri Anand Nirbhik, Chairperson of the Legal Services Authority, during which preventive measures were discussed.

Reward of ₹5,100 for Informants
The Child Welfare Committee has announced a cash reward of ₹5,100 for any individual who provides information regarding a child marriage. Additionally, the helpline numbers 8005575524, 8306002138, and 1098 have been released, through which any person can share information related to child marriages.

The District Collector has instructed all officials, employees, and elected representatives at the village and Tehsil levels to remain vigilant and active in preventing child marriages. Orders have been issued to raise public awareness through extensive outreach campaigns conducted via Patwaris, teachers, Anganwadi workers, Mahila Suraksha Sakhis (women safety volunteers), Panchayat representatives, municipal body employees, and voluntary organizations.
