Prisoner escapes from Ludhiana Civil Hospital during medical check-up

Panic erupted at the civil hospital on Monday when a cunning prisoner escaped from police custody. The accused, who was incarcerated in Borstal Jail, had been brought to the hospital for a medical check-up.

The accused was with the orthopedic doctor

ASI Harbhajan Singh, posted at the Reader Branch of the SSP office in Khanna, stated that he and his team had brought six prisoners for medical examinations. While they were taking one of the prisoners to the orthopedic doctor for medication, the accused, taking advantage of the large crowd of patients at the hospital, cleverly slipped his hand out of the handcuffs and fled.

Police register case

The incident has caused a stir in the police department. Based on the statement of ASI Harbhajan Singh, a case has been registered against the accused under Section 262 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police teams are conducting raids to apprehend the escaped prisoner.
