    Property Dealer Dies by Suicide in UP After IPL Losses, Told Wife “I’ve Lost Everything”

    Lucknow: A 35-year-old property dealer committed suicide by jumping from the 11th floor. He used to place bets on IPL matches. On Thursday, he lost lakhs of rupees during the match between RCB and Gujarat Giants. Following this, he called his wife and, weeping, told her that he had lost a significant amount of money. His wife tried to console him, but while the match was still in progress, he jumped from the apartment’s balcony.

    Thursday, Prabal jumped from the 11th floor. As the weather had turned pleasant following a spell of rain, residents were out strolling in the open areas. The sound of the fall drew a crowd to the spot, and the scene was soon filled with cries of distress. People present at the location immediately alerted the police and called for an ambulance.

    Upon arriving at the scene, the police transported him to a hospital for medical attention, where doctors pronounced him dead. ACP (Ghazipur) Anindya Vikram Singh stated that a suicide note was recovered from the site. In the note, the deceased mentioned having lost money in the match and offered apologies to his wife and family. An investigation into the matter will be conducted based on his bank statements and the complaint filed by his family.

     Wife Says: “He Called Me While Weeping”

    The police have stated that, during questioning, the wife Shivani revealed that her husband was constantly watching the IPL. He was watching a match last night as well. It was during this time that he called her. He was weeping profusely. He managed to say only this much: “I have lost a great deal.” After that, he could not utter another word, and the call disconnected.
