Property Dealer Swallows Poison in Ludhiana; suicide due to financial distress

In the Rishi Nagar area of ​​Ludhiana, a property dealer, distressed by financial difficulties, committed suicide. The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Sonu Kumar. It is reported that he had been suffering from severe mental stress for quite some time due to a business slump and deteriorating financial conditions.

Admitted to DMC Hospital After Condition Deteriorated

Inspector Rajendra Pal Chaudhary, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the PAU Police Station, stated that the police received information this morning that Sonu Kumar, a resident of Rishi Nagar, had consumed a poisonous substance.

Family members informed the police that when Sonu’s condition worsened, he was immediately rushed to the DMC Hospital. Doctors there made strenuous efforts to save him, but he passed away during treatment.

Family in Deep Distress; Action Initiated Based on Wife’s Statement

Preliminary police investigations have revealed that Sonu Kumar worked as a property dealer. For some time, he had been increasingly distressed due to continuous business losses and financial constraints. Sonu is survived by his wife and two children.

The police have taken custody of the body and have deposited it in the mortuary at the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The Station House Officer stated that further action is being taken based on the statement provided by the deceased’s wife, Jyoti.

Sonu Kumar was grappling with financial troubles, which ultimately drove him to take this tragic step. Currently, the statements of the family members have been recorded, and the necessary legal proceedings have been initiated.
