Shimla: Protests are being held in 4 districts of Himachal Pradesh over the dispute of illegal construction in mosques. Hindu organizations took out an outrage rally on Saturday in Sunni, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Paonta Sahib of Sirmaur district and Sundernagar of Mandi, adjacent to Shimla. These organizations are protesting against the police lathi-charge in the protest against Sanjauli Mosque of Shimla.

The protesters demanded that people coming from other states should be police verified. Also, their work should be monitored. In support of this protest, markets of the entire state were also kept closed for 2 hours. In view of the protest, police have been deployed outside mosques and Muslim-populated areas in the entire state.

Hindu Jagran Manch Leader and the main face of the movement in Sanjauli Kamal Gautam said that the police have behaved brutally with the protesters in Sanjauli. The police used lathis on the protesters. In protest against this, a bandh has been called on September 14. Kamal Gautam had appealed to the traders to register their protest by closing the shops from 10 am to 1.30 pm on September 14.

He said, “The traders need to tell the administration that if Hindus are treated with hatred in any way, then Hindus will not tolerate it.” On the morning of September 11, a large number of protesters gathered in Sanjauli and in view of the situation, the Shimla district administration implemented Section 163. Under this, there was a complete ban on gathering of more than five people here. Despite this, a large number of protesters gathered in Sanjauli. After this, breaking the barricading from Dhali tunnel, the protesters reached Sanjauli. During this, the police lathi-charged the protesters and used water cannon. In protest, the protesters pelted stones on the police personnel.
