Recently, the committee had held a meeting with the employees and ordered the officials to take a decision on the demands of the employees and submit their report to the government. But despite the order, even after two months passed, the committee of officers neither held a meeting nor took any decision on their issues and sent its report to the government.

Angry Employees Start Their Protest
The employees seemed angry that despite the decision being taken by the Cabinet Sub Committee, the Officers Committee was not holding a single meeting for the last two and a half months.

Employees alleged that the state bureaucracy seems to be refusing to accept the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Cabinet Sub Committee. In protest against which today the office employees of the Education Department started a pen down strike.

SSA And Mid-Day Meal Employees Union Leaders said that the Chief Minister’s green pen took the decision to make the office employees of the Education Department regular and despite it being approved by the Cabinet Sub Committee the office employees of the Education Department neither got regular orders nor did the salary cuts of the employees stop.
The leader said that the Education Minister and departmental officials have held several meetings with the employees, but time is being wasted only on assurances and promises. The leader said that Cabinet Sub Committee meeting was held at Punjab Bhawan Two Times, in which Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal agreed to confirm the staff. But After but 2 and half month had passed, the employees neither received regular orders.
The leader said that almost all the office employees Monthly salary is being cut by Rs 5000, which has not been fulfilled despite repeated promises by ministers. Along with this, the increase in salary of mid day meal office employees from the year 2019 has been put on hold.
