Punjab Actor’s Showroom Manager Held for ₹1.28 Crore Jewellery Theft

Mohali: A major breakthrough was achieved by Mohali Police after they arrested Deepak, the manager of Punjabi actor Kuljinder Sidhu’s jewelry showroom, for masterminding a burglary that took place about 20 days ago. Investigations revealed that the accused had been employed at the showroom for the last four years.

How the Theft Was Carried Out

The shop owner discovered the theft after returning to the showroom following a Sunday closure, only to find the lockers empty. Police questioning soon focused on the showroom staff. Officials confirmed that the accused manager stole jewelry worth ₹1.28 crore, ₹60,000 in cash, and the DVR.

Superintendent of Police Dilpreet Singh said that all stolen items had been recovered and that the manager was currently on remand for further interrogation.

Police Findings in the Investigation

• Misused Access to Security System:
  Due to his long employment, the manager had gained the trust of the owner and knew the passcode for the strong room’s three-layer electric security system, allowing him to carry out the theft.

• Identified Through CCTV:
  Although he took the DVR from the showroom, Deepak was traced through CCTV cameras installed along roadside routes. Police later recovered all the stolen jewelry from his home, which included 40 pairs of tops, 61 gold earrings, silver earrings, necklaces, and other items.

• Owner’s Account:
  Vikram Singh Sidhu, owner of Joshin Shauk Private Limited in Mohali, said he had placed all items in the locker before leaving. The theft was discovered upon his return to the showroom on November 3, 2025.
