Assembly session to be held in Sri Anandpur Sahib on Nov 24; Read to know why

For the first time in Punjab, a special session of the Vidhan Sabha will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib outside Chandigarh on November 24. The one-day session will be part of the celebrations dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.

Education Minister Harjot Bains and Advisor to the State Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Deepak Bali gave the proposal after a long meeting with various saints in Chandigarh on Friday.

After the meeting, Harjot Bains said that we are in talks with the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat to hold the Vidhan Sabha session in Anandpur Sahib on November 24.”

Meanwhile, according to sources in the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, the venues selected so far for the special session of the Vidhan Sabha in Sri Anandpur Sahib include Dashmesh Academy and Virasat-e-Khalsa Auditorium. Other venues are also being discussed.

It is worth noting that a special session dedicated to the 550th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was earlier organized by the then Captain Amarinder Singh government in 2019, but this session was held in the Vidhan Sabha itself.
