Punjab-Bound Truck Carrying 67.80 Lakh Narcotic Pills Intercepted on Baddi-Chandigarh Highway

New Delhi: A team from the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Neemuch, intercepted a truck loaded with narcotic pills being shipped to Punjab on the Baddi-Chandigarh highway. Acting on a tip-off, the team searched the truck and recovered approximately 6.78 million narcotic and psychotropic pills.

The truck driver has been arrested in connection with the case. Investigations have revealed that the consignment of bullets originated in Baddi and was destined for Punjab. The agency is now working to determine who sent the consignment and to whom it was intended in Punjab.

Praveen Dhull, Superintendent of the Central Narcotics Bureau, Neemuch, said that the team received a tip-off about a truck. Based on the information, the team stopped the truck on the Baddi-Chandigarh highway and searched it. During the search, approximately 67.80 lakh narcotic pills were found in the truck.

According to the official, the truck originated from the Baddi area and was headed towards Punjab. A Narcotics Bureau team intercepted it on the highway. With the discovery of such a large quantity of narcotic pills, the agency is investigating their potential value in the illegal market.
