Punjab Budget to be presented on Sunday; Assembly session schedule released

Amritsar: The schedule for the Punjab Assembly’s budget session has been released. The session will begin with the Governor’s address. The first day will be marked by a eulogy followed by the Governor’s address. March 7th will be a holiday, and the budget will be presented on March 8th (Sunday).

This is the first time in the history of the Punjab Assembly that the budget session is being held on Sunday. Experts believe the government may announce a grant of ₹1,000 for women on this day, hence the date chosen.

Two-day discussion on the budget
The budget will be discussed over two days.

According to information received from the Assembly, the vote of thanks and discussion on the Governor’s address will take place on March 9th. The budget will be discussed on March 10th and 11th. During this period, MLAs from all parties will be given speaking time according to their numbers. Non-official business will be settled on March 12th.

Invest Punjab’ Program During Recess
The House will be adjourned from March 13th to 15th. During this period, the “Invest Punjab” program will be held in Mohali, where investors from India and abroad will visit Punjab to explore investment opportunities. The House will be adjourned sine die on March 16th.
