    Punjab bus tragedy: 6 dead, 21 hurt after pole crash shock,PM Modi condoles loss of lives

    A bus full of devotees overturned in Fatehgarh Sahib. Six devotees died in the incident, while 21 were injured. Among the injured are women and children. They have been immediately admitted to nearby hospitals, where their treatment is ongoing. There were 40 devotees on the bus. The incident occurred late at night.

    The devotees were returning from the Baisakhi fair in Anandpur Sahib. Meanwhile, near the village of Himmatpura, the bus developed a technical fault. After that, the bus went out of control, collided with an electric pole, and overturned. Passengers on the bus said that after the bus overturned, there was a sudden electric shock.

    After the accident, there was chaos at the scene. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot. Twelve injured were taken to Morinda and nine to Fatehgarh Sahib. The bus was moved aside and towed.

    The seriously injured devotees have been referred to Chandigarh PGI. The devotees aboard the bus were from the village Main Majri near Bassi Pathana.

    Villagers rescued devotees trapped in the bus
    Local people say that they had left to eat dinner late at night. When they saw the accident, they called more people. The ambulance arrived quite late. They helped the people trapped in the bus get out.

    Two key points from the SSPโ€ฆ

    • Accident occurred 1.5 kilometers from the village: SSP Dr. Shubham Agrawal said that the accident happened late at night. The place in Main Majra where the devotees were supposed to get down was only 1.5 kilometers away. As soon as the news of the accident arrived, local people and police officers reached the spot.
    • Villagers helped in the rescue: He said that the treatment of the injured is ongoing. Senior police officers had already reached the spot at night. Villagers helped in the rescue.

    Taking to X, the Prime Minister’s Office said, “Pained to hear about the mishap in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab. I extend my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured.”

    Harsimrat Kaur Badal, MP from Shiromani Akali Dal from Bathinda, expressed sorrow.

    She wrote in a social media post – Sad news. Deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of 6 devotees in a bus accident while coming from Shri Anandpur Sahib. May Guru Sahib grants the departed souls a place at His feet and heal the injured quickly.
