Punjab, Chandigarh dry today; chill rises, rain likely

Punjab and Chandigarh are expected to witness dry conditions today, with clear to partly cloudy skies dominating most regions. No significant rainfall activity has been recorded in the past 24 hours, keeping the weather stable for now.

Morning-evening chill intensifies

Despite the dry spell, a noticeable chill has returned during early mornings and late evenings. Minimum temperatures have dipped below normal levels in several areas, making the weather feel cooler than usual for March.

Day temperatures remain below normal

Daytime temperatures are also running lower than seasonal averages due to recent cloud cover and earlier rainfall activity. In Chandigarh, the mercury recently dropped significantly by around 7–8°C below normal highlighting the unusual cool phase.

Rain likely to return from tomorrow

Weather conditions are expected to change again from tomorrow as a fresh western disturbance becomes active over north India. This may bring light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds in parts of Punjab and Chandigarh.

Experts attribute the current cycle of dry weather, sudden cooling, and incoming rain to repeated western disturbances affecting the region. These systems are causing rapid shifts in temperature and precipitation patterns across north-west India.
