Rain to Lash Parts of Punjab From Tonight, Temperatures Near Normal

Chandigarh: Light to moderate rainfall is expected in some parts of Punjab and Chandigarh from today (January 31) until Tuesday. ​​Today, light to moderate rain is mainly expected in some areas of four districts: Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, and Rupnagar.

No weather alerts have been issued. Meanwhile, the maximum daytime temperature has increased by 1 degree Celsius and is now close to normal. The lowest temperature recorded was 5.5 degrees Celsius in Bathinda.

Western Disturbance Reaches the Mountains

According to the Chandigarh Meteorological Department, the Western Disturbance has reached the mountains. A cyclonic circulation has also started forming over Pakistan.

Additionally, winds are coming from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. This is creating a possibility of rain in some parts of Punjab and Haryana.

In Punjab, the chances of rain are low in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, and Fazilka.

Rain is expected in Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Rupnagar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sangrur, Patiala, Mansa, and Bathinda from the night of January 31 to February 2.
